New Lowrider single and video, “And The Horse You Rode In On” streaming now!

Sweden’s stoner rock gods Lowrider are set to release a split record with England’s Elephant Tree, on October 25, 2024. Released on Blues Funeral Recordings and called The Long Forever, the album will feature four new tracks from Lowrider and three from Elephant Tree.  Lowrider just made their first video ever for the single, “And The Horse You Rode In On”. It’s a good straight up rocking tune from the band. This will be Lowrider’s first new batch of songs since their comeback record, 2020’s Refractions. It had been over twenty years since Lowrider released their masterpiece debut album, Ode To IO in 2000.

As stated from the band: “We just wanted to do something different, says Lowrider frontman Peder Bergstrand. “How do you follow up the 11 minute closing track everyone loved on our last album? I have no idea, but a two-and-a-half minute punk banger on the current state of the world seemed like the only way” he chuckles. “Weirdly enough it’s also our first music video ever. I’ve done more music videos for others than I can remember(for Greenleaf & Dozer among others) but somehow this is our first. Feels nice to have ripped that bandaid, 25 years into the career haha!” “We just wanted people to see the raw energy of the band. And Niclas’ t-shirt is a slight nod to current events and kind reminder to take care of your pets and not eat them… and also to not believe everything you see on TV” he adds with a smirk.”

I have always been a huge fan of Lowrider and can’t wait to hear the new songs. They were one the first bands from Sweden that I really got into. Check out the video for the new song and buy their other two albums also.
