Birds Of Vale – Dimensions

Birds Of Vale is a four-piece heavy rock band from Athens, Greece. They consist of Anthony Kyritsis on vocals, Lazaros Kangelidis on guitar, Kostis Papagiannopoulos on bass, and Nikos Manatos on drums. They released their debut album, Limbo in 2024 and just released their latest sophomore album, 2026’s Dimensions. Dimensions came out on April 23rd 2026 on Sungun Records and contains eight tracks at forty two minutes long.

I love hearing a band for the first time when everything sounds great right from the beginning. “Colder” starts the album off with a hard blues rocking sound that begins somewhat subdued and strikes heavier just as the chorus kicks in. Anthony Kyritsis has a strong and impactful voice that draws from a low and soulful tone, into a soaring power house! The tightly executed music is the perfect backdrop for the melodies to shine and the rhythms to glide. Birds Of Vale produce hard rocking music that sounds  accessible to the masses. “Colder” and the second track, “Another Dimension” are a great one two punch in introducing us to the riff rocking/ blues explosion of dynamic tones that the band delivers. Scorching guitar leads fill in the gaps when the song calls for it and the groove is certainly undeniable. Birds Of Vale has an engaging sound that is really hard to resist.

“Nice Guy” is another killer song! The music and vocals coalesce perfectly around a hook-friendly melody that draws you right in. “Bye Bye Beautiful Lie” has a swanky blues vibe commanded with the spellbinding vocals. “Restless” has a funky groove that grabs your attention with a psychedelic twist. Heavy, catchy, and electrifying, Dimensions is a mature record that has a lot of depth and soul built in. Fantastic song crafting skills, Birds Of Vale has a large range of captivating riffs and melodies. They transition nicely between the more straightforward rockers to the elusive and more mellow pieces like “Inner Revolution” and the excellent, “Knives”. The smooth vocals of the latter, along with the hypnotic bass and drum rhythms, allows the guitars to flourish freely with the leads. The song has a deliberate heavy psych texture which has an alluring pleasantry to it.

The eighth and final track off Dimensions is called “Best Inside Of Me”. It’s a bouncy rocker that finishes off the record with an animated potency. Birds Of Vale keep their songs between the four and six minute range with five minutes being the sweet spot. They really showcase a promising future with Dimensions, as every track has a lot to offer in regard to quality, structure, and memorability. Birds Of Vale are a high quality band with a collection of great songs and I think this album will surprise a lot of listeners after they hear it.
