Slomosa Live 3/27/26

Live at Brighton Music Hall in Allston, Massachusetts USA *March 27th 2026*

The Norwegian heavy rock band Slomosa embarked on their first headlining United States tour, beginning on March 26th through May 1st, 2026. Dubbed as the “Breaking Ice Tour”, my wife and I witnessed show number two in their month long excursion, and they were amazing! Just over a year ago, we saw Slomosa open for Helmet at the Paradise Rock Club in Boston (review here). We knew this heading show would be great, and boy did they not disappoint!

Being my first time at Brighton Music Hall in Allston, Mass, the club was packed when we arrived, five minutes after the opening band finished playing. We were lucky to find our way very close to the front of the stage, where we were packed in pretty tightly. The vibe in the club was very cool and friendly. The crowd was riled up and ready for Slomosa to hit the stage and blow our heads off. That is exactly what they did with their hour plus long set as they opened with “Afghansk Rev” that went right into “Cabin Fever”, both off their sophomore album, 2024’s Tundra Rock (review here). They played “Rice”, also from the same record and then played three tracks off 2020’s Self Titled, “Estonian”, “Scavengers”, and “In My Mind’s Desert”. The sound was amazing and the energy was high! There were people crowd surfing throughout their performance and everyone was having a great time. There was plenty of banter between songs and some political commentary and what not, as guitarist/ vocalist Benjamin bantered with the audience. It was a very fun atmosphere overall.

Three more tracks from Tundra Rock, “Battling Guns”, “Red Thundra”, and “Monoman” were all played with exuberant intensity. The band finished off their scheduled set with three more from the Self Titled album, “There Is Nothing New Under The Sun”, “Kevin”, and the most powerful and electrifying closer, “Horses”. The crowd went nuts! Most people were head banging, jumping, and moving to the music throughout Slomosa’s twelve song set. The band actually played an encore, as we’re screaming and chanting “SLOMOSA, SLOMOSA!” It was awesome, with a friendly and inviting up crowd that really appreciated the band for being there.

After a couple of minutes, the band returned with “Psykonaut” and completely leveled the place! Together, the band gelled nicely and seemed very comfortable performing for over an hour. Benjamin Berdous (guitar and vocals) really engaged the crowd between songs and was having fun joking around. Marie Moe (bass) was head banging the whole time and sang backing vocals, more than I remember from before. It sounded great overlaying the lead vocals nicely, on certain parts. Tor Erik Bye (guitar) had a large brace on his right leg because he tore a bunch of ligaments a few days before the band left for the tour. He was a trooper and would only sit on a stool briefly in between songs. The crowd even sang Happy Birthday to him, which was fun. Jard Hole (drums) was so exceptional and kept the band sounding heavy and tight. A great drummer is a gold mine in a heavy rock band, for sure! Slomosa are a very fun and excellent band to see live. They brought the energy and are on the verge of potentially blowing up, in the global music scene. Their popularity keeps growing and they have a great style of stoner rock that sounds assessable to the masses. I am so grateful to have witnessed the band play in a small club because those days could be numbered.
