Masheena – Let The Spiders In

Masheena is a hard rock band from Bergen, Norway. They are known for their crunchy desert riffs and ginormous melodies. They consist of Luis-Alberto Salomon on guitars and vocals, Tarjei A Heggernes on bass, and Bård Heavy Nordvik on drums and percussion. They have released their debut album in 2023, called West Coast Hard Rock. The band has returned with their latest sophomore album, Let The Spiders In. It was released on April 10th 2026 and contains ten tracks at thirty five minutes.

The bluesy slide guitar shimmer begins “Been Waiting”, as an eruption of heavy desert grooves takes hold of the music. Soaring and emotive vocals complete this musical colossal called Masheena. The song is an instant classic and an ear worm delight as the massive rhythms and powerful voice overtakes my subconscious and surroundings. Plenty of graceful melodies and clean guitar strumming, coalescing with the fuzzed-out tones and incredible singing. “Going To The Mountain” has a poppy vocal harmonization that starts things off. The hook-laden vocals are really leading the charge and the bouncy rock grooves are very complimentary.

“One Eye” is an another catchy number that has an almost glam rock appeal. The simple but solid riffs and tight rhythm section is adorned with electrifying vocals and harmonies. The next track, “A Game That You Don’t Want To Lose” is another killer! The soulful vocals with the harmonized backing has an eerie vibe working with the bombastic riffing. “Life Is But A Sin” has a slower tone that stays with the verses and amplifies when the chorus strikes. It’s a catchy tune and a full fledged hard rock classic. Masheena are incredible musicians and masters of the simplicity and quality ethos. “Sara Lost Her Way” and “In Her Eyes” has a ballad pop and rock stretch happening. Both songs build into a musical monument of hard rock mastery. I do prefer the more hard driving rockers but Masheena can accomplish it all!

“Don’t Tell Her” is a guitar driven rocker that is chock full of melodies. The fuzzy leads and grounding rhythms propel the song into a happy discourse. “Riffy” brings back the stoner tones in full distortion mode. The electrifying number has a jolt of rocking energy that sets up the rest of this record for a strong finish. The band decided to experiment a little with “You Owe Me”. It’s a fun and lively song that has a funky edge and dancing swagger. Let The Spiders In has already proven to be one of the most powerful and captivating releases of the year. The music that Masheena create is both beautiful and captivating.
