Belzebong – The End Is High

Belzebong is a long standing instrumental stoner doom band from Kielce, Poland. They formed in 2008 and consist of Sheepy Dude on bass, Alky Dude on guitars, Cheesy Dude on guitars, and Hexy Dude on drums. They have released 2011’s Sonic Scapes & Weedy Grooves, 2013’s Dungeon Vultures EP, 2015’s Greenferno, 2018’s Light The Dankness, and 2021’s De Mysteriis Dope Sathanas Live in Oslo. The quartet have finally returned after five years with a new album called The End Is High. It was released on February 20th 2026 on Heavy Psych Sounds and contains four tracks at thirty four minutes long.

Belzebong is a band that understands how to fully immerse a listener without having vocals being present. The hard riffing doom riders are masters of amassing huge riff-centric buildups and escalating harmonies. As the first track “Bong & Chain” shows us this amazing flow of divine tones and devastating rhythms. Belzebong can orchestrate their fuzzy stoner doom pretty much better than anyone. The almost eleven minute opener is a slab of chunky riffs melded together with integral guitar leads that support the sonic structure of the song. The next song “420 Horseman”, begins with a quick sample into a bulldozing rhythm that is peppered up with psychedelic tones and raging riffs. The battering ram of fuzzy tones is the driving force to the Belzebong sound. An earthquake of stoner doom destroying everything in its path. The “420 Horseman” is under six minutes but the song leaves a trail of audio destruction in its wake.

The third track is called “Hempnorized”. It begins with a sample over a heavy doom riff and just pummels for over eight and a half minutes. There are guitar leads layered over the Sabbath rhythms that give the track a good variation to the trudging devastation. Belzebong knows exactly how much they should stretch out a riff, changing it just before the inevitable boring repetition settles in. They bring back the sample midway through and continue to demolish the eardrums with swampy doom tones until the end.

The fourth and final track on The End Is High is called “Reefer Mortis”. It’s another savage beating of riffs that will melt your face off. The pounding drumming accompanies the stoner rhythms as they continue the riff hammering. The heavy grooves will make your head bob back and forth, as the riffs penetrate through the entire body. For sludge heavy doom with psychedelic layering, Belzebong has it all covered with these four unrelenting tracks.
