3 Shows with a bunch of awesome bands! Leather Lung, Domkraft, Dozer, Gozu, High Desert Queen, Fu Manchu, Clutch, and more!

Starting tomorrow night, I’ll be attending three rock shows in four days! Thursday night at Sonia’s in Cambridge, Mass, I will be seeing Boston’s own sludge metal merchants, Leather Lung and Sweden’s psychedelic doom gods, Domkraft. I was supposed to see Leather Lung two years ago at Desert Fest New York. Due to traffic and poor planning, I showed up late and missed their set. They released a new stellar album, Graveside Grin, earlier this year (review here). Domkraft also released their fantastic Sonic Moons album (review here) last year. Unfortunately, I will not be able to check out Belzebong.

On Friday night at the Widowmaker Brewery in Braintree, Mass, Sweden’s stoner rock legends, Dozer will touch base on American soil. I have waited decades to see Dozer play live! They are touring in support of last year’s masterpiece album Drifting In The Endless Void (review here). They will be playing with Boston’s stoner metal wizards, Gozu, who also released a monumental album, Remedy (review here) last year. Newer desert rock warriors, High Desert Queen from Austin, Texas will also be playing. They put out a fantastic album earlier this year called Palm Reader (review here). Also, on an already stacked bill, supergroup Legions Of Doom (featuring members of The Skull and Saint Vitus, with COC’s Blind era vocalist Karl Agell) will be performing also. They will honor the late Eric Wagner (vocalist for Trouble/The Skull), fallen Saint Vitus members, and also the late Reed Mullin, drummer from Corrosion Of Conformity. I am super excited for this show!

To top off the weekend, on Sunday at the Hampton Beach Casino, in New Hampshire, I will finally get to see the stoner rock pioneers Fu Manchu play live again. It has been many years since the last time I saw them, with two failed attempts a few years ago (rescheduled then cancelled tour/Covid and what not.) The band released a banger of a record earlier this year called, The Return Of Tomorrow (review here). They are opening for Long Beach, California’s classic blues rock revivals, Rival Sons, who will be playing their classic record, Great Western Valkyrie, in its entirety. Finally, Maryland’s finest heavy rock band, Clutch, will be performing their legendary album, Blast Tyrant, in its entirety. This is my favorite album from Clutch and I’m super stoked to see this lineup.  It’s gonna be one hell of a weekend of stacked rock shows!
