Undertong – Self Titled

Undertong is a stoner rock band from Prague, Czechia. The four-piece consists of Marek Holeček on vocals, Jakub Adamčík on guitars, Daniel Chorouš on bass, and Piettro Torchio on drums. The band just released their Self Titled debut album on June 25th 2026. It contains seven tracks at forty four minutes long.

“God’s Grace” begins the recording with a smooth and grooving bass line that erupts into a catchy chorus of riffalicious stoner rock. The mellow verses sets the song to reach high energy levels with soaring vocals and all. Undertong has a strong and creative songwriting style that is powerful right from this opening track. The second song, “Black Mass” is another crushing menace of devastating riffs and catchy vocal melodies. The dense rhythms and harmonies are reminiscent of Wolly Mammoth. I really love the dynamics and flow of each of these seven tracks. Each song averages between five and eight minutes, comfortably resonating at six minutes.

The third track, “Lost In Neverland” is another killer song! It has a nice mellow start of cosmic jamming that explodes into the fuzzed-out tones. Marek Holečelk’s vocals are excellent throughout this whole album and really resonates with the hard driving riffs and blissful melodies. Undertong will appeal to everyone into the classic and heavy stoner rock from the start of the century. This Self Titled debut is fantastic! “Rosetta” is another crushing track of monolithic doom and bombastic fuzz. The band layer in some eerie guitar leads which give the song a twist of psychedelic ambience, allowing the vocals to command.

Another banger is the fifth track, “Cosmic King”. Heavy and surmounting riffs laced in melodies, Undertong understands sonic transitions and audio intricacies. The hypnotic bass midway through this track adds another level of depth and dynamics to the music. “Under The Tongue” kicks right in with the fuzzy grooves and keeps the energy and momentum flowing. Bouncy rhythms of riff rocking fury, Undertong also mixes in some atmospheric textures into the song also. There is so much happening in each of these songs that multiple listens are strongly encouraged.

The final song on this terrific album is called “Spaceship Crashing “. It’s another masterful piece that continues to soar through the peaks and valleys of musical damnation. Undertong is yet another band worthy of capturing the debut album of the year. This is top quality stoner rock that has the perfect combination of big fuzzy riffs and blazing melodies.
