ULTRACOMBO – Season 3 EP

ULTRACOMBO is a stoner rock/ heavy alternative band from Vicenza, Italy. They consist of Alessio Guarda on vocals, Giordano Pajarin on bass, Flavio Gola on drums, Alberto Biasin on guitar, and Giordano Tasson on guitar. They have released three EPs so far including: 2019’s Season 1, 2022’s Season II, and their latest, 2026’s Season 3. Season 3 was released on July 14th 2026 and contains five tracks at twenty three minutes long.

The opening track “Out Of My Mind” is as great as a lead off song can be! The fuzzy and catchy number has the desert style riffs and vocal prowess that will be ingrained in your brain for eternity. ULTRACOMBO has all the righteous hooks that will satisfy fans of QOTSA and Carson. The band incorporates a robotic synthesized bridge halfway through and greets the listener with high octane stoner grooves that totally rocks. The second track, “Annullamento” shifts the sound and language, with the remaining four tracks sung in their native Italian language, mixed with some English. The music is still hook-driven but there’s a murky resonance and darkness to these tones. The psychedelic components are a nice addition with the eerie synthesized sounds making a presence as the song carries along with a hypnotic flow.

“Il Pavone” adds a bouncy and almost poppy vibe to the music. The smooth drum beats and electronic-esc elements with the riffs and vocals, are fantastic! The band experiment with some cosmic and spacey tones with a fuzz worship rhythm and soaring vocal melodies. The fourth track “Il fungo e l’universo” is another crusher! Fuzz-driven rhythms with a mesmerizing flow, there’s plenty to get excited about here. The final number, “Un giorno come ieri” explores more electronica influences but still manages to drench us with the fuzzy tones. The heavy and bulldozing catchiness of this song is so satisfying! ULTRACOMBO has a penchant for writing great songs and I would love to hear a full length album from these guys in the future.
